Yeah so I'm probably the last person to find out about this, but here's an interesting new genre called "Skweee" (good new name at least, not like "UK Funky House" of which it's taken me ages to realise has nothing to do with that other thing we call funky house). It seems to basically be mid-tempo analogue synth funk with electro beats, a dash of chiptune and a dash of dubstep, and is pretty neat as it goes. Apparently there's some crossover between skweee and dubstep because they're similar tempos. Initially I wasn't too interested in dubstep as it seems like just the latest London bass sound, but it seems like it's far more interested in finding new directions than grime or drum'n'bass say…
