Yeah, while we're all in the mood I suppose we should try and think of something. Here's a flawed idea to get us started…
Everyone who has copies to sell puts their names forward along with a PayPal address, and the country they're based in, for instance "Mixomatosis / lee.ashcroft@blahblahblah / UK" or "Solypsis / solypsisnoise@etc / USA". We then jumble them all up into a random order, keeping each country's sellers seperate, so we'll have a list for sellers in the UK, Ireland, USA, Japan, Australia, etc. Then let's say someone in Ireland wants to buy a copy. The first person on the Ireland list takes the sale, and then moves themself to the bottom of the list. Then an Australian wants to buy one, and the same thing happens again. Now someone else in Ireland wants a copy, so the person who was second on the original list - now at the top after the first person moved to the bottom - takes the sale. And so on and so forth until everyone sells out, probably some time in 2017.
Now here's where this idea falls apart then… the price for the compilation would have to be fixed, otherwise it simply wouldn't be fair on certain buyers. And that price would have to be converted across all currencies, which given the current state of the global economy mightn't be particularly easy to keep track of. Also, what happens if someone in Africa for instance wants to buy a copy, or country where there isn't someone selling copies? I guess in that case it could be passed on to someone in the nearest zone, but it's hardly foolproof is it?
No, this isn't necessarily a solution, but it's something to get us started at the very least, because it's nearly 2 years since CBML4 came out, and we really should have sorted something out by now, shouldn't we?
